Community involvement

Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.

Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)

The P&C at Hornsby South Public School plays an integral role in our school community. We organise a variety of community events and fundraising activities, such as the School Disco and the Twilight Concert. All proceeds from these events go directly toward improving and supporting our school. We also work closely with the school and the wider community to decide where this support is most needed.

The P&C manages several facilities and services available to our school community, including the School Canteen and the School Band.

Our Canteen is overseen by a Canteen Manager who coordinates a dedicated team of volunteers to ensure the canteen runs smoothly and provides healthy options for our students.

Our School Band is run by volunteer parents who give their time to support our young musicians. Each of these services is managed by committees of volunteer parents, ensuring they meet the needs of our families and children. Funds raised through these services also go directly toward improving and supporting our school.

Hornsby South Public School has always had a strong and supportive community. The efforts of the P&C, along with the wider school community, have enabled us to introduce our School Band, build the Yurt that houses the Before and After School Care program, and implement the online systems used by our Canteen and Uniform Shop.

P&C meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month (except during school holidays) at 7:30 pm. Everyone is welcome to come along, participate, and share comments, suggestions, and feedback.
